Girolamo Campagna (1549-1625) was a sculptor of the 16th century, active mainly in northern Italy.
Born in Verona, he moved to Venice in 1572 and studied with both Jacopo Sansovino and Danese Cattaneo, completing many of the latter's works.
After the master's death, Campagna went to Padua where he obtained the commission intended for Cattaneo in the Basilica of Sant'Antonio di Padova. This was his first masterpiece, a bas-relief of the saint bringing a slain man back to life.
A few years later, Campagna created the bronze tabernacle in the Basilica of Sant'Antonio in Padua, in the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament (also known as the Gattamelata Chapel).
Most of his life was spent in Venice, where he created most of his works.
