Jeff Scott Campbell Biography
Jeffrey Scott Campbell (born April 12, 1973 in East Tawas, Michigan) is an American cartoonist. He has used several aliases, including "Jeff Scott", but is primarily known as J. Scott Campbell.
In the 1980s, Campbell entered and won a contest titled "Invent the Ultimate Video Game," featured in the pages of Nintendo's official magazine, “Nintendo Power.” Participants had to submit designs and concepts for a video game. Color drawings of the game "Lockarm", designed by Campbell, were published in the magazine as winners. The author was 15 years old at the time of his participation.
Campbell is best known as the original artist and co-creator of Gen and Danger Girl. He made his big debut at Jim Lee's Wildstorm Productions with his work on Gen, his first comic book series, which featured a group of teenage heroes. He soon gained a reputation in the American comics industry for his highly sexualized illustrations of women.
In the 2000s, Campbell has been heavily involved with Marvel Comics, having signed a deal to work with them since 2006. Most commonly, Campbell creates covers for "The Amazing Spider-Man" and related characters. Currently, he resides in Colorado with his wife and daughter.
