Born in New York in 1962, he lives and works in the South Bronx, cradle of Hip Hop. Already in '77, a student at the High School of Art and Design, he became a graffiti writer; he chooses the name “Daze” because it contains the “E” and “Z” that no other writer is using. He is among the first, together with his brotherly friend Crash with whom he still shares the studio today in the heart of the Bronx, to intervene with his spray on an entire subway car. It was immediately noticed for its characteristic of composing the letters one inside the other, in order to create a three-dimensional space, making them look like moving sculptures. Later he inserted comic-like images, which made him unmistakable in the New York artistic panorama. His very first works were produced in Spanish Harlem, with great success so much so that in 1985 he was invited to create the mural for the opening of the International Contemporary Art Fair in London. In 1991 Jack Lang, then French Minister of Culture, invited her to participate in the “National Museum of Monuments” exhibition. In 1997 he combined music and painting with the “Vans Warped Tour” and visited 30 American cities and 12 European countries. He held a series of conferences at the Cambridge Academy in Oxford on the “Evolution of Urban Art”. In 2006 he was commissioned by Timberland to create urban art decorations for its footwear. In Italy he has already exhibited in important exhibitions in Milan and Florence.
