Joos de Momper the Younger, or Joost de Momper the Younger born 1564, was a Flemish landscape painter who worked in Antwerp in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Brueghel's influence is evident in many of his paintings. His art fits into the transition from mannerism to a greater realism in landscape painting that developed in the early 17th century.
De Momper learned the art of painting from his father, also a painter, printer and publisher. In the 1580s, he traveled to Italy for study. Evidence of this journey is provided by the landscape frescoes in the church of San Vitale in Rome, previously attributed to Paul Bril but actually the work of Joos de Momper.
De Momper primarily painted landscapes, a genre that was highly regarded during his lifetime. Only a small number of the 500 paintings attributed to de Momper are signed, and only one is dated.
De Momper died in Antwerp on 5 February 1635.
