Renato Di Bosso Biography
Renato Righetti, also known as Renato Di Bosso, was born in Verona in 1905. He was an important Italian artist and painter of Futurist origins and one of the most significant talents of the Veneto region of the 20th century. He came from a family of artists, particularly known for their expertise in sculpture and wood carving. From a young age he demonstrated great talent and successfully pursued his passion for the arts, becoming a brilliant student at the Accademia Cignaroli, the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona, where he graduated in 1925.
Thus began a rich and successful artistic production influenced by the futurist movement, whose main point of reference is the Calabrian artist Umberto Boccioni, known for his modern paintings and sculptures. In 1931 Righetti founded the Futurist Group in Verona, naming it after his idol Boccioni. In the same period he took the name Di Bosso, inspired by the quality of the wood he preferred for his works. His first futurist sculpture, Violinist, was also born in this period.
Di Bosso uses various unconventional materials for his works, including crystal and aluminum, the latter used for his famous Antitie sculptures. He has participated in numerous art exhibitions, receiving numerous awards and recognition for his prodigious artistic production. After a life dedicated to creating interesting and brilliant works of art, the painter passed away in 1982 at the age of 77.
