Vincenzo Eulisse Biography
Vincenzo Eulisse was born in Venice in 1936. He attracted the attention of critics with his first solo exhibition in 1958 at the Galleria Bevilacqua la Masa, presented by Giorgio Trentin and Mario De Micheli. His early paintings are realistic: they tell the world of workers and fishermen. At the end of the sixties, he obtained the role of assistant to Emilio Vedova at the Sommer Kunstakademie in Salzburg. Precisely with Vedova and with Basaglia, Chinello, Federici, Gianquinto, Nono, Perusini and Pizzicato he participates in the great cultural debate that in that period animates Venice, revealing himself to be an eclectic painter, in dynamic evolution and socially committed. The two participations in the prestigious Venice International Art Biennale (1972 and 1976) date back to this decade. With the Venice-Brera artistic bridge, Eulisse opens an artistic partnership with the Milanese Marzulli, Merisi, Forgioli, Petrus, Valieri and Ruggero Savinio. Since 1978 he has been a teacher at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, where he will conclude his academic career after 25 years.
