Elena Fia - Fozzer Biography
Elena Fia Fozzer was born on 13 July 1937 in Trento into an artistic family: her father was the well-known sculptor Eraldo Fozzer. Growing up, he learned to model clay in his father's workshop and had the opportunity to interact with many famous artists, including Fortunato Depero.
As a young woman, Elena Fia Fozzer demonstrated great artistic talent, winning awards and mentions for her early sculptures and paintings. After studying at the Prati classical high school in Trento, he attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. At just 21 years old, he won a national competition for teaching drawing and art history.
For twenty-two years, Elena Fia Fozzer taught in a scientific high school in Trento, continuing to cultivate her passion for art. He has developed a personal research full of satisfactions, abandoning the figurative and embracing the abstract. In the early 1970s, he painted highly stylized female figures such as "Cosmic Mother".
In 1980, Elena Fia Fozzer began collaborating with Artestruktura, a group of artists linked to the gallery of the same name directed in Milan by Anna Canali. He developed the concept of modular, non-static paintings of small or large dimensions, which allow the observer to interact with the work through a playful approach. Thanks to his famous "chromosectorials", composed of different materials such as wood, painted canvas, magnetic anchors, and metal supports, the viewer has the possibility of modifying the work by means of magnetic modular elements.
In the 1990s, Elena Fia Fozzer became co-founder of the Italian section of the Madì movement. Since the 2000s, he has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Italy and abroad. In 2007-2008, he held a major exhibition at the Foyers S. Chiara in Trento, presented by Luciano Caramel, Renzo Francescotti and Fiorenzo Degasperi. He held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions between 2008 and 2013.
