Arioli Fioravante Biography
Born in Laveno on 16 December 1890, he lives in Milan. He studied painting at the Brera Academy under the teaching of Cesare Tallone. He made his debut at Permanente in 1916 with "Abbondanza", a painting purchased by the Society itself. In the following years he collaborated with Silvio Bicchi, creating mosaics and stained glass windows for churches in Milan, Piacenza and Monza. Native of Lake Maggiore, his painting is a clear expression of his very nature as a sincere man and a spirit open to manifestations of beauty. The colors of his lake, which reflect each other between sky and earth, make up his palette, and constitute a fact that belongs to the painter's own personality. A yearning for light, for space, is in that delicate color of his, of spring air which, supported by a good craft, makes him a poetic dreamer of pink, light blue, light fantasies, both in lake landscapes and in the mother-of-pearl Venices, in the airy and dreamy flowers, and in the amiability of the figures of his graceful female portraits. Participates in collective and national exhibitions. Personal exhibitions (the first held in 1934) in Milan, Genoa, Montevideo (Uruguay). His works can be found in public and private collections in Milan, Rome, Genoa, Piacenza and cities in South America. He took part in the Exhibition of the Society for Fine Arts and Permanent Exhibition of Milan in 1938, exhibiting "Il Monte Rosa". The Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery in Piacenza preserves his painting Fanciulla.
