Francesco Guerrieri Biography
A protagonist of Gestalt, programmed and structuralist research since the early sixties, Guerrieri founded Gruppo 63 with Di Luciano, Drei and Pizzo. Among the major recent exhibitions in which he has participated, in addition to his large retrospective in 2012 at the MACA - Museo Arte Contemporanea in Acri, we remember Rediscovered Paths of Italian Art 1947-2010 in the VAF/Stiftung Collection at the MART in Rovereto in 2011; Kinetic and Programmed Art at the GNAM National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome in 2012; Arte Programmata y Cinetica Italiana at the MACBA Museo de Arte Contemporàneo de Buenos Aires and at the MACLA in La Plata (Argentina) in 2013 and 2014. Starting from the 60s and 70s, among the main critical testimonies on his work are those, among others, by Argan, Bonito Oliva, Celant, Menna. His works are in the collections of the GNAM - National Gallery of Modern Art, of the Quadriennale d'Arte in Rome, in the VAF/Stiftung Collection at the MART of Rovereto and Trento, in the MADI Museum of Dallas (USA), and in forty other museums in Italy and abroad.
