Enrico Job Biography
Enrico Job (Naples, 31 January 1934 – Rome, 4 March 2008) was an Italian artist, set designer and writer. Husband of the theater and film director Lina Wertmüller (for whose films and stagings he designed all the sets, winning several David di Donatello and Silver Ribbons), he dedicated himself to set design after 1960, worked in the theater with Giorgio Strehler, Luca Ronconi (Joan of Arc, 1967; Richard III, 1968; Oresteia, 1972), Virginio Puecher, Eduardo De Filippo, Mina Mezzadri (Il Pellicano, 1975; The Father, 1980; Creditors, 1981), Raffaele Maiello (Titus Andronicus, 1976 ), Walter Pagliaro (Waiting for Godot, 1978), Filippo Crivelli, Mario Missiroli (Verso Damasco, 1978; I Giganti della Montagna, 1979; La villeggiatura. Smania, adventures and return, 1981; Il Gabbiano, 1991; Medea, 1996), Roberto De Simone (Mr. Bruschino or the son by chance, 1988), Francesco Rosi, Luca De Filippo, Armando Pugliese (These ghosts, 1992), Gustav Kuhl, Giorgio Pressburger (A solitude too noisy, 1993), Guido De Monticelli ( No Man's Land, 1994); in cinema he collaborated, among others, with Marco Bellocchio (In the Name of the Father, 1971), Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey (Blood for Dracula), after attempting a career as a painter. Since 1970 he has dedicated himself to behavioral art. Among his major works are installations and performances such as «Autoritratto» (1971), «Il mappacorpo» (1974), «La confession» (1975), «La conversation» and «Until» (1976), «After all it will be finished" and "The house on via Francesco Crispi" (1977), "Silent moon" exhibited at the Venice Biennale.
