Carl Magnus Biography
Carl Magns was born in Getinge Halmstad in 1943. An artist linked to Abstract Expressionism, he was part of the "Bauhaus Situationist" movement in Drakabygget between 1963 and 1966. Over the years, he taught in several academic institutions, including the Institute High School of Art in Berlin in 1981, the School of Art "Valands" in Gothenburg from 1985 and the School of Art "Kungl" (KKH) in Stockholm from 1991 to 1996, where he was professor of painting. Since 1995, he has been a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm.
He began exhibiting his works in 1966 in a group exhibition at the Varbergs and Kalmar museums. In 1967, he presented his first solo exhibition at Galerie Leger in Gothenburg, and went on to exhibit in numerous exhibitions in several cities including Florence, Malmö, Stockholm, Verona, Norrköping, Rome, Munich, and Aalborg.
Since 1984, Carl Magns has worked occasionally in the Apuan-Versilia area and participated in the exhibition "The past and the presence" II ed. at the "L. Russo" Cultural Center in Pietrasanta in 1983. Over the course of his career, he has developed a personal and recognizable artistic language, characterized by the use of color and form.
