Alessandro Martini Biography
Alessandro Martini, known as "Ama", was born in the province of Como in 1983, where he currently lives and works. From a young age he dedicated himself to creating works of art, drawing inspiration from the great masters and using them as models to inform his development. In the early 2000s Martini met master Bocci, from whom he tried to learn and refine various painting techniques. Over time Martini was influenced by various styles and movements but did not identify with anyone in particular.
In the following years Martini found himself immersed in profound artistic confusion, continually searching for his own style and sense of artistic identity. He also collaborated with other artists such as Piero Gauli and Pitti to help him discover his true self. In 2011 Martini met Lamberto Pignotti, who introduced him to the concept of "visual poetry". He discovered that paper was the medium that best embodied his artistic vision. Through experimentation with the paper medium, Martini found his niche, combining images, words, pop art and visual poetry.
In 2011 Martini began collaboration with Artetivù Orler, which brought him recognition from a wider Italian audience, as well as participation in numerous exhibitions and group shows with established artists. In 2012 he participated in the Monte Carlo Biennale through the La Telaccia gallery in Turin and also began a collaboration with Telecolor and Arteinvestimenti, which brought Martini to the first successful national art auctions. In July it appeared in the magazine Arte Cairo. In 2013 Martini was invited to participate in the Palermo Biennale, curated by Paolo Levi and inaugurated by Vittorio Sgarbi. In the same year he joined the 421 artistic group composed of Arzuffi, Racconi, Basilè, Faraci and Martini himself, with whom he collaborated on several works. Martini's informal collage technique was inspired by Informal Art, which eschews any form or structure not only visually but also in the mind of the artist. His technique also draws from collage, made popular in Italy by Maestro Rotella.
