Roberto Miniati Biography
Roberto Miniati was born in Rome in 1952 to parents of Florentine origins. Since childhood he developed a passion for drawing, which he began to cultivate during a period of convalescence due to an inflammation of the appendix. In the 1960s he began to compose his first works. After obtaining his diploma, he took charge of the family business, which dealt with watches and jewellery. Miniati developed a strong passion for precious stones, becoming one of the first gemologists in Italy. He enrolled in the faculty of Psychology to deepen his knowledge of the mechanisms of the unconscious, but he also attended several private art academies.
Not finding his art form in any of these schools, Miniati decided to become self-taught. He worked hard to refine his artistic knowledge, coming into contact with gallery owners from all over Italy and becoming a passionate art collector. Meanwhile, he continued to work with the family business, taking over management after both his parents were involved in a serious car accident.
In the Seventies and Eighties, Miniati continued to study the great authors who had inspired him, alternating pictorial activity with long reflections. His painting, which has always been a thoughtful and coherent expression of his continuous inner evolution, reflected his university education. In fact, Miniati has always tried to bring his artistic vision out of his internal dialogue, communicating through his art with others.
In short, Roberto Miniati is an artist who has dedicated his life to his passion for art, combining it with his commitment to managing the family business. His painting, which begins as a self-taught and internal form of expression, increasingly becomes a bridge of communication with the outside world.
