Giuseppe Miti Zanetti, born in Modena on 9 October 1859 and died in Milan in 1929, was an Italian painter and engraver. His artistic production concerns views of Venice. He received artistic training first at the Modena Academy in 1873, then at that of Bologna. In 1880, in Venice he became friends with Roberto Brugnoli and began to exhibit continuously at Italian exhibitions from 1886 to 1914. In the last years of the century he also began to take an interest in etching. Zanetti painted bright lagoon views and some less frequent alpine landscapes. His most famous works are the melancholic nocturnes, characterized by a dense and broken brushstroke and a bright palette that breaks down the contours to capture the lyrical vibrations of the lagoon. Giuseppe Miti Zanetti died in Milan in 1929.
