Carlo Oberti Biography

Carlo Oberti was born in 1955 in the Ossola Valley and moved to Bergamo in the 1970s. From a young age he became passionate about the world of art and perfected his skills by enrolling in courses at the Accademia Carrara. Thanks to his interactions with many characters and heterogeneous experiences, Carlo refines his artistic passion ranging from classic to contemporary.
Carlo Oberti's works stand out for their ability to unite two contrasting concepts, namely esprit de geometrie and esprit de finesse, in a single emotional and vital geometric synthesis. In the perfect interior of his works, made of perfect symbolic forms and crystallized in frozen precision, it seems that life escapes perception but, with attention, one can grasp implicit references and vital references.
Carlo Oberti's work is characterized by a lucid madness captured within the traps of trigonometry, where corners of the world and acute forms of thought come together in a cartography of the world absorbed in the magical composure of pure and self-evident forms. Overlapping of planes, adjacencies of solids, references to shapes, crossings and reversals, chasing volumes and reverberations of spaces are just some of the elements that characterize his works.
Furthermore, Carlo dares to challenge the dictatorship of black, overcoming the apparent reticence of the supernatural and aiming for a listening point beyond the immobility of the concept. The black beyond the black thus becomes the border point between the vibration of color and silent transcendence, which asks to be reflected in the darkness. Carlo Oberti's works recall stormy sailing ships inside a bottle, vacuum worlds where the drama is only suspended and the relationship with the world only postponed.
