Rodolfo Paoletti (1866-1940) was a descendant of a family of artists and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Subsequently, he moved to Milan, where he dedicated himself to illustration, while continuing to practice as a painter with considerable success.
The pasty technique present in his paintings highlights the attitude of an artist who remained faithful to the vedutist traditions of nineteenth-century Venice, but who translated the image into the form of color and light following a very personal style.
The photographic cut of his works comes to life thanks to the presence of a structure designed and supported by a material sensation which represents the typical stylistic feature of the artist's Venetian production.
In 1898, he obtained the Mylius prize with "Cortile con bove", which is today exhibited in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan.
