Luigi Parzini Biography

Luigi Parzini was an Italian artist born in 1925, who marked the transition between the first and second half of the 20th century. He represented the aspiration for artistic renewal, he experienced the disappointments and distrust of the public and he judged the ambitions of society with bitter irony. His art was characterized by elegance and discretion, testifying to his moral rigor and his profound convictions. Parzini enjoyed great success and unanimous critical recognition, but he also knew how to build a silence around himself, which allowed him to cultivate his art with serenity.
Parzini's artistic production is characterized by a profound mysticism, which overcomes the divisions between religions and brings the question of faith back to its primordial essence, that is, the search for reason and the desire for hope. His masterpiece is represented by the decorative cycle of the Chapel for the Home of the Elderly of Pernate, a work that goes beyond painting, reflecting on all the mystical space that can bring man closer to divinity, from benches to furnishings, in a feeling of pity and sharing that breaks down the barrier between the artist and the public. Today, Parzini is remembered as one of the most important artists of his era, capable of expressing a profound and universal vision of life through his art.
