P. Pennisi Biography
Paolo Pennisi was born in Padua in 1939. After obtaining a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he dedicated himself to an artistic career. Throughout his life, he actively participated in local cultural life, exhibiting his works in important exhibitions organized by the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation. Thanks to his civil commitment, he actively participates in the political and institutional life of the Padua area. Become a teacher of artistic disciplines, promoting innovative educational projects for various school age groups.
As an artist, Pennisi stands out for his attention to linguistic experimentation and the renewal of the expressive contents of the aesthetic imagination. His vision, deeply imbued with ethical and social values, is expressed through a personal declination of contemporary "inhuman realism". In painting, he adopts different materials and often uses the "ready-made" technique or consumer and waste objects to enhance the emotional impact of his works. His creations range from abstraction to figuration, passing through moments of strong drama and splendid lyricism.
Pennisi's works are present in important private collections in Paris, Madrid, Monaco, Grenoble, Venice, Rome, Turin, Padua, Bergamo, Milan, Catania, Bologna, Vercelli and Lecco. Some of the artist's works are also present in museums such as Chicago, Los Angeles and Assisi.
