Armando Pietrangeli was born in Rome in 1942 and began working at the age of 17 as a sports photographer for the newspaper "Il Messaggero". Armando Pietrangeli was born in Rome in 1942 and began working at the age of 17 as a sports photographer for the newspaper "Il Messaggero". Throughout the "dolce vita" period, he carried out various assignments for some Italian newspapers and agencies, photographing countless situations and characters from cinema and entertainment. In 1965 he moved to Paris where he worked for many press agencies, made several trips to England and, in 1975, decided to move to London where he continued his work as a photojournalist as a correspondent for the famous "Rex Features" agency. On behalf of this agency, between 1975 and 1990 he traveled the world, operating mainly in the Middle East, Europe, USA and Canada. His personal archive contains more than a million photographs, and what makes it different from others is its great variety. Today he lives in Austria and divides his time between antiques, photography and collecting vintage images.
