Paolo Profaizer was born in Bolzano in 1961. Both his father and paternal grandfather cultivated a passion for painting. Since he was a child he has been passionate about drawing. He began painting during his adolescence, attending some courses. In 1981 he moved to Bologna and enrolled at DAMS – visual arts major. In 1986 he graduated. After some work experience in the advertising and tourism promotion fields, he decided to settle back in Bolzano and dedicate himself to artistic activity. He exhibits with various galleries in Italy and abroad.
