Francesco Radino Biography
Francesco Radino (Bagno a Ripoli, 1947) is an Italian photographer. An exponent of contemporary photography, he was born in Bagno a Ripoli (FI) in 1947 to parents who were both painters. After studying sociology at the beginning of the 1970s he decided to dedicate himself professionally to photography with particular interest in industrial, design, landscape and architecture photography. An author who cannot easily be classified, over time he has developed his own poetics, rich in imaginative and emotional suggestions. His works appear as a flow of multiple narratives where human figures, natural elements, urbanized territories, animals and objects accumulate, which lose their original physical consistency, assuming the same timeless dimension of memory. A free eclecticism and an always renewed energy allow him to move easily between clients even very distant from each other and his stylistic code, of both photographic and pictorial derivation, is characterized by lightness, simplicity and irony. Since the 1980s he has participated in numerous public research projects in the area, including the Archivio dello Spazio photographic campaigns within the Architectural and Environmental Heritage Project of the Province of Milan, the Osserva.Te.R project promoted by the Region Lombardy, the European Eyes on Japan project organized by Eu Jap Fest, Italian Atlas 2003 for the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Transformation for the Museum of Contemporary Photography of Villa Ghirlanda. As an author he has published numerous books and videos on the theme of photography.
