Federico Rizzi Biography
Federico Rizzi was born in 1962 in Udine, where he still lives and works. His artistic career began in the 1990s with pictorial works in which the overlapping of color backgrounds created a material three-dimensionality that became a constant in his artistic career. Rizzi subsequently used plastic substances, copper and iron sheets worked with acids and oxidized, giving greater importance to the material element of his works. Despite this, its geometries do not hide a pictorial component that is still present.
In the period between 1997 and early 2000, Rizzi exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions in Sesto al Reghena, Trieste, Udine, Venice, Klagenfurt (Austria) and in many European art fairs. Over the last few years, Rizzi's artistic style has been enriched with the use of new materials such as steel mesh, iron and brass textures, always worked with acid, shellac mixed with oil paint, silicones and resins, which brought a new level of complexity and meditation to his design work.
In 2021, Rizzi had an exhibition in Rome and Chiavari (Genoa) at the Zappettini Foundation, and is preparing for a new exhibition in Udine.
