Sylvester Stallone Biography
Michael Sylvester Enzio Stallone was born in 1946 in New York, into a family of modest social class, in the neighborhood known as Hell's Kitchen. Having moved to Philadelphia, Maryland at the age of twelve, Stallone became passionate about sports thanks to his mother who opened and managed a gym. He began to consistently practice all types of gymnastic exercises, giving shape to his sculpted physique, which later became famous. Subsequently, after graduating, he spent two years at the American College of Switzerland in Geneva, opening himself up to an international education, although he abandoned it shortly before graduating. Upon returning to the United States, he enrolled in the drama faculty at the University of Miami with the intention of studying the theoretical aspects of acting. However, Stallone did not stop at a passive role in entertainment, but began writing screenplays and working on writing lyrics and dialogues, in order to make himself known and develop advantageous professional relationships. Since writing, despite being well paid, did not guarantee a secure living, Stallone held a long and tiring series of jobs, such as pizza chef, zoo keeper and usher at the Baronet theater. His debut as an actor took place in 1970 with the already much discussed soft-porn film "The party at Kitty and Stud's", while his first real opportunity came in 1974 with "The Lords of Flatbush". He achieved worldwide success two years later, thanks to the right choice to play Rocky in a film of the same name by John Avildsen, for which he also wrote the screenplay. Stallone is also an avid art collector and is said to successfully engage in surrealist painting and is co-owner of the famous "Planet Hollywood" restaurant chain together with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Thanks to his generosity and his inclination towards altruism, Stallone has often found himself at the center of charitable initiatives. In 2008, he directed and starred in the film "John Rambo", the fourth installment of the saga. In 2019, despite three years earlier having declared that he had abandoned the character of John Rambo, he returned to play him in the last chapter of the series entitled "Rambo: Last Blood".
