Massimo Tantardini Biography
Massimo Tantardini, born in 1970, obtained a degree in Modern Literature from the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Milan, La Statale. During his career, he served as editor and director of the contemporary culture magazine he founded, Inside, for several years. Additionally, he has written, edited and published dozens of books and catalogs in the field of visual arts. He founded and directed the independent publishing house SHIN production from 2002 to 2010.
Tantardini has collaborated with numerous intellectuals and artists, including Fernanda Pivano, Francesco Conz, Jack Hirschman, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Enrico Ghezzi, Tony Jop, Luciano Sampaoli and Gerard Malanga, as well as artists of the Fluxus & Happenings movement. He met, dialogued, interviewed and interacted with artists such as Richard Nonas, Françoise Janicot, the poets Bernard Heidsieck and Henry Chopin, and the art critic Luigi Ballerini, the musicians Philip Corner, Walter Marchetti, Ben Patterson, Cosey Fanny Tutti & Chris Carter of Throbbing Gristle.
Furthermore, Tantardini is the School Coordinator of the 1st and 2nd level Academic Diploma course in Graphics and in Graphics and Communication, and until A/A 2018-2019 he was disciplinary coordinator of the School of Scenography and Entertainment Technology. Since 2018 he has been the Contact for International Relations. he is a member of the jury of the 3W ideas competition at Kilometro Rosso Innovation Disctrict and in the coordination commission, as academic tutor. He edits the contemporary art and visual culture column entitled Beyond the Garden. Arts, research, actions, for the magazine New Secondary, a monthly magazine of culture, pedagogical research and teaching orientations.
