Antonio Trotta Biography

Trotta Antonio (Paestum, 1937) Antonio Trotta was one of the promoters of the "SI Group", he is part of the Accademia di San Luca and lives and works between Milan and Pietrasanta. He began exhibiting his works in 1966 at the Museum of Modern Art and the Argentine Pavilion Institute. His attention is always directed to the relationship "art and space" and to large installations. Experimentation in the production of his works began in the 1970s, with the reproducibility of the subjects through the use of photography and video. At the end of the 1970s he began to approach the canons of Western art of Ancient Greece, rediscovering historical and mythological subjects and materials such as marble, bronze and mosaic, ideal for affirming the perenniality of the work. Examples of this genre are: "Tuscia Electa", Castello di Verazzano Arte Studio Invernizzi, Milan, "Italian Sculpture" Mudima, Milan. He has also produced public monuments such as "Ateleia" Vallo della Lucania, "Resistenza", La Spezia, "Pietra Leccese" Martano, "Gabriele D'Annunzio", Vittoriale degli Italiani, Gardone, "Sospiri", MACAM, Maglione.
