Uncini Giuseppe (Fabriano, 1929 - Trevi, 2008) Giuseppe Uncini was an Italian artist born in Fabriano in 1929. After making himself known in his city of origin, he moved to Rome, on the advice of Edgardo Mannucci, coming into contact with some important figures of Italian and international art. In 1955 he participated in the VII Quadrennial in Rome and subsequently exhibited in Germany in Frankfurt. In 1956-57 he created his work entitled “Terre”, composed of sand, tuff, ash and pigments. The turning point in his artistic language came in 1957 and 1958 with the cycle of works "Cementiarmati", in which the artist mixed different materials such as cement, iron and wire mesh, allowing the basic structure to be glimpsed. Uncini's research focused on the concept of space and geometry, wanting to underline the constructive and architectural principle in his works. The first important personal exhibition was organized at the Galleria l'Attico in Rome in 1961. Uncini's research developed from 1962 to 1965 with the "Ferrocementi" cycle, characterized by works with perfectly smooth cement, so much so as to leave only the iron rod, which became an element of continuity between the internal and external parts. In 1965 the artist dedicated himself to the “Strutturespazio” cycle, presented at the XXXIII Venice Biennale in 1966. From 1968 Uncini became interested in the theme of shadow, creating in the same year the work “Open door with shadow”, subsequently exhibited in National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. Between 1969 and 1972 he presented the "Mattoni" series and subsequently the one entitled "Ombre", until arriving in the 1980s with the "Dimore" cycle, characterized by works that give the idea of an architectural landscape, composed of buildings , doors and windows. In 2004 he continued his work with the “Architectures” series, and then arrived at the new “Artifici” cycle. During his life several important solo exhibitions were organized at the Stadtische Kunstalle in Manheim, at the Christian Stein Gallery, at the Gallery. Giò Marconi (Milan), at the Fumagalli Gallery in Bergamo.
