Marco Ventura Biography

Marco Ventura was born in Milan in 1963 into a family of artists. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the School of Visual Arts in New York; works as a freelance illustrator for publishers and advertising agencies around the world. He has received several awards, including two silver medals from the American Society of Illustrators. Numerous of his works are part of private collections and the collections of the Vatican Museums, two of his portraits were recently exhibited in London at the National Portrait Gallery for the BP Portrait Award, and at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. He collaborates as a teacher with the IED in Milan.

The magazines Novum, Communication Arts and 3X3 have published articles on his work. He also works in the philatelic and numismatic field: his stamps have been released for the British Royal Mail, the Republic of San Marino and the Vatican State, and in 2019 a 20 Euro silver coin designed by him was minted for the Vatican City from the State Mint.

He also collaborates as a teacher with the European Institute of Design (IED) in Milan.
