A group of eight porcelain tiles painted with erotic scenes China, Qing dynasty, 19th century
Eight decorative porcelain plaques decorated in the “famille rose” palette, depicting erotic scenes with loving couples in their alcove. This amusing series of quadrangular-shaped plaques was probably meant to be hung inside the structure of large Chinese beds, which were built as proper small rooms, isolated from the rest of the house.
