A large bronze figure of seated Buddha Laos, late 17th century
A dark patina bronze casting depicting the historical Buddha seated in the half-lotus position on a high, tiered base with raised finials reminiscent of pagodas. His right hand touches the earth in bhumisparsamudra; his left hand lies in his lap in dhyanamudra. The Buddha wears a monk's robe and his head is surmounted by a flame shaped ushnisha.
