A cilindrical polychrome porcelain brush pot vase decorated with flowering branches and mythological animals in the colors of the “Kangxi-wucai” palette introduced in China at the turn of the seventeenth century. The cursive and "coarse" style mimics the ancient Wucai patterns of the late Ming era. The bottom bears a six-character blue underglaze reign mark of Guangxu (1871-1908).
