A Yancai porcelain box and cover China, Qing dynasty, Guangzu mark and period (1871-1908)
Beautiful round porcelain box painted in the famille rose palette with intertwined fretwork on a yellow background and four circular reserves containing the shou character of longevity and a large central roundel with the image of the Phoenix and the Dragon admist clouds and flaming pearls, according to the usual iconography alluding to the imperial couple. Six character Guangxu mark painted at the base.
