A lathe jar with high round foot, large globular body and thick flared neck. The exterior covered with amber glaze interrupted by sporadic abstract decorations, in the colors that prefigure the traditional sancai Tang terracotta figures. This peculiar shape is based on contemporary bronze and lacquer prototypes and constitutes their cheaper version.
The jar has been TL tested by Doreen Stoneham laboratory, Oxford, dated April 1993.
