Group with two wooden figures, Dogon Mali
Two human figures seated back to back, covering their faces and ears respectively. The figure with the covered face is very common in the Dogon statuary and it is often traced back to the mythological character "Dyougou Serou" who hides his face with his hands in shame. Solid wood with evident traces of thick encrusted patina.
