It is difficult to establish the exact provenance of this necklace with a container pendant made of silver and coloured glass.
Even its function is unclear. it could be a container for opium or bethel, or a kind of reliquary to hold pieces of cloth from the habit of a monk or saint.
What is certain is the fine workmanship of this jewel and its beautiful patina.
