The poetics underlying Michelangelo Pistoletto's Mirror Paintings have fundamental characteristics that, starting from 1963, every spectator can enjoy with a detachment from the past: the dimension of time, not only represented but truly active; the inclusion of the spectator and the surrounding environment in the work; the double perspective that determines the painting as if it were a door between art and life.
