Vintage photo frame. The painting belongs to the hand of Nicola Face based on concordances of landscape and stylistic cutting works signed with the latter, a painter still little or malnoto, which, active in the first half of the eighteenth century, is remembered by the biographer Bernardo de Dominici in parallel with the landscape painter Michele Pagano for a common dependence on similar models of Salvator Rosa. Del Viso are known some signed landscapes, with "invention" landscapes, in which are inserted fragments of Roman ruins or contemporary buildings (farmhouses o castelli), brightened by the presence of popular life scenes, with figurines of farmers, shepherds or hunters but also with seascapes with boats, ships and fishermen. Among these paintings will signal the "landscape with ruins", signed and dated 1724, already in the Neapolitan collection, both coming compositionally the two paintings in question, a "Landscape with Shepherds", signed already Morandotti in Milan two rounds, one of which signed, with scenes of everyday life, from a private collection, as well as two "Marine" sign, which appeared in the London antique market. The Face was also the author of small canvases with tavern scenes or sacred subjects, such as, oval, depicting the "Rest on the Flight into Egypt" and "The Adoration of the Magi", auction extras at the Della Rocca Turin December 2013, and, in some cases, with ecclesiastical destination, like the one signed and dated 1739, which is conserved in the Neapolitan church of Santa Teresa a Chiaia.
