Auction 355 | ISLAMIC & ORIENTAL ART Traditional
Lot 63
Beautiful pair of heavy porcelain cachepots, covered by thick black glazed embellished with a sober archaistic-inspired embossed white medallion. This type of production, meant to be functional in the furnishing of houses, is often characterized - as in this case - by archaic motifs connected to the sober and elegant taste typical of the ruling class or "literati". The roundels decorating the outer walls are inspired by the jade artifacts from the Han period (206bC-220aD) decorated with intertwined dragon and phoenix motifs.
Measures: 11.5 x 18.0 cm
Starting price: € 350,00
