Lot 169
Provenance: Cinema Ristori, Ferrara The theater was born in 1662 as a private theater of the Bonacossi family. After the serious damage suffered during the world conflict, it was restored in 1945, but only in 1953-54 did it have a radical renovation of the place. The project was entrusted to Eng. Gino Bresciani (pupil of Pier Luigi Nervi); while the sculptor and ceramist from Bassano del Grappa Danilo Andreose was entrusted with the decorative apparatus. The room was embellished with numerous phytomorphic wall lights in Murano glass from the Venini. After World War II, the theater was converted into a cinema (Cinema Ristori) and the activity of this historic building ceased definitively only in 2004, due to the gradual dismantling of the cinemas located in the city center in favor of multiplex. Today a complete renovation project is underway for the transformation of Palazzo Ristori into a complex for commercial and residential use.
