AUCTION 285 - AFRICAN AND OCEANIAN ART FROM TWO IMPORTANT EUROPEAN PRIVATE COLLECTIONS (ONLINE)

Black patina wooden mask with four-end headdress. This mask belongs to the Baule tradition of the so-called portrait masks used during the dances of the mblo celebrations. The female face depicted is idealized to indicate an inner and moral beauty. Above the head, a sort of four-headed headdress possibly resembles animal horns.
