A large carved Longquan celadon jar and cover China, Yuan/Ming, 14th-15th century
A large heavily potted jar, fitted with a phytomorphic lid. It presents the external surface moulded with stylized plant motifs and combined lid characterized by a wide wavy brim. A jar similar in shape and size was sold by Christie's HK (Christie's HKCEC Grand Hall, 1 June 2011, lot 3816).
Provenance: Italian private collection, purchased on the French antique market in the 1950s.
