Auction 355 | ISLAMIC & ORIENTAL ART Traditional

Porcelain cup with characteristic glazing with a stylized decoration of flowers and leaves. The brown drawing, made with underglaze iron oxide, is due to the mismanaging of the kiln temperature which, as a result, "burned" the pigment turning it from red to this dark shade of brown. For a close related example cfr. the bowl at the Maas Museum, Australia (n ° 398177).
