Pair of white hard porcelain bowls. Qing dynasty, Qianlong period.
Sound white hard porcelain bowls have decorations in fencai enamel that are detectable to the touch.
The background is painted with a floral subject; a peony branch combined with other flowers creates a continuous motif of leaves and plants, a kind of mysterious garden without boundaries. The inner border is crowned by an elaborate decoration with lobed reserves densely decorated with flowering corollas and stylised twigs in shades of pink.
