It is difficult to establish the exact geographical area of origin of this extraordinary war club and insignia of rank, as objects like this have fascinated all men, especially warriors, since the dawn of time. These rare sticks with compact knots of random but perfectly functional volumes sculpted over time by nature, have always been invested with a distinctive, partly shamanic and certainly notable or regal value as a primitive sceptre, in a vast area stretching from South East Asia to China and even Japan.
