Fiji Islands. Totokia war club. Hardwood and dark patina.
An imposing Totokia war club and rank insignia characterised by its blunt sunflower (or pineapple) shaped body with a prominent central spur. The lower circular section is engraved with geometric motifs that increase the grip and are reminiscent of the tattoos that warriors had made all over their bodies.
Exceptionally dark patina, intact, never waxed and probably never even cleaned.
Visible flaws and obvious signs of use.
