Ecuador - Jama - Coque. Anthropomorphic terracotta sculpture. 300 BC. -800 AD.
Modelled and moulded ceramic with post-fired polychrome painting.
A seated figure wearing earrings, narigueros and a pendant necklace is depicted. He rests his hands on his knees under which two ornaments are visible. The curious headdress has wide ribs on which large traces of the original blue colour are still visible.
Provenance: Marcel Ebnother Collection, Sempach, Switzerland.
Present authentic Hermes Arte Antica, Arezzo.
