Pawel Grunert works individually but fits perfectly into the Polish artistic design current of Ephemeral Art. "Ephemeral" in the sense of transient, not very durable, something delicate that is easily affected by external agents but at the same time rich in expression.
Grunert's works are of various kinds, one cannot speak of a single tendency and common factors in his works. He uses different materials, mostly natural. His poetics are consistent with the poetics of the Polish landscape. With his works, he underlines the rich shapes of tree roots by intertwining them with industrially processed wood. Grunert does not go beyond the boundaries of objects in the traditional sense: a chair always has the shape of a chair, a bed that of a bed. By building an object with natural materials, he gives life to a poetic fact.
